finding "the new normal" in europe

A European Consulting firm was being gutted by the recession.

Layoffs had demoralized several of their operations, consulting fees were being beaten down by customers, and internal friction was threatening to fracture the business.

Walt designed and facilitated a four day meeting in Munich with consulting leaders from five countries. The stated purpose of the meeting was to reset the whole business for what one executive called "the new normal".

Another executive said: "Look, I came here just knowing these other guys were trying to kill us, so of course I was ready to kill them first. But as you can see we decided not to kill each other. We ultimately decided on what the "new normal" looked like and how we all could prosper going forward. We may even get to be friends again, the meeting went that well."
